There's something about being in a hotel room all alone that I find really comforting. Or maybe it's just because of my long time wish of traveling somewhere and checking myself to some hotel alone hasn't occurred yet. And so here I am, enjoying the alone time before my other roommates arrive (that'll be my mom and my eldest sister) and finding this quiet moment to gather up my thoughts.
Okay! So, last November I was given the opportunity to travel alone to La Union, my uncle's place since he's been bugging me on when I'll visit their place and enjoy the rural air. It was technically my first time to travel somewhere alone without anyone I know (may it be by name or whatsoever) inside the same vehicle. It actually felt great, I feel like I've grown out my "bunso"* phase in the family since I was able to arrive to my uncle's place successfully.
I spent the entire trip wondering, "what would it feel like if I do this often?". Just me, sitting by the window, enjoying the view or enjoying the alone time reading the designated book I have for that particular travel (this time, it's The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger). I wonder and dreamed about the places I'd go to, adventurous and daredevil sides of one's self revealed and awakened. With this, I hope to get to more places, travel more and discover provinces and countries I've never been to.
This trip indeed is something I won't forget.

I've been off the network, lately and I miss updating this space of mine as well. So, with all the shenanigans and whatever, I am here, greeting you a wonderful morning all the way from La Union. *Tatadadaaaaaaa!*
YES!
Clyde and Ermingarde's off to another set of adventure again! Early this year, we went to visit Mindoro along with my Grandma Ria and Uncle Jon (who came from the US) so to allow my grandma to see her siblings and close relatives once more. We made the trip as well so she could enjoy and add more smiles to her face since my Grandpa Jane passed away last year. Also, to fulfill her promise to see our relatives again before our Maker gathers her since she lives far away from us. But I hope she'll be able to come back again next year.
So, that then resulted to more travels for this year and the backpacker in me awakes once more!
Early this April, my Dad and I returned to San Jose, Occidental Mindoro to fix some papers and to bond with thy relatives, again (getting extra clingy now!). Dad went back home first and I traveled home, ALONE. Aboard a plane. The first time in my entire travelling life! It felt great, I felt like I just graduated from my amateur backpacker self and I made it home, safely! Huzaaaaaah!
I spent a few days at home, got my stuff ready for another adventure to the land of Agoo, La Union. With side trips to:

I spent a few days at home, got my stuff ready for another adventure to the land of Agoo, La Union. With side trips to:
- Candon, Ilocos Sur to spend time with my Grandma Lena (mother side) and my other Mother's side relatives (I can't believe I've this much nephews and nieces. I feel so old!).
- Baguio! To spend some quality bonding time with my cousins (heya, Cious and Cess) and Uncle Ferds and Auntie Edna.
- San Juan. A peaceful near-sunset afternoon, watching the surfers and surfing students ride the waves. (the waves that day's a tad bit weaker than the surfer's ideal waves for riding).
And upon typing this, I am still breathing the same La Union air. Summer Vacation, it is! Tomorrow's another Baguio day for us and hopefully, I'll be able to update something about my whereabouts with photos soon! (probably when I get back to Manila).
Cheerio! Hopefully, your vacation's going great as well.
Last Friday, I allowed myself some Me-time after a week of overtime stays in the office for the telethon and some desperate need of having an alone time with God after all the hustle and bustle of Makati escapades-filled workdays. Yes, I am now a part of the working force, fighting it's way to get to their Makati offices on time (or in a simpler way, a Makati-based girl) and I admit that being back in Makati still brings the same type of stress I experience whenever I get to this part of the business. So, back to what I was trying to say…
I found a coffee shop , walking distance form the office and near the playground where my friend and I used to go to whenever we need to de-stress. I got myself a nice warm mug of coffee and a lemon square and started doing my usual alone time ritual of writing my thoughts away on a napkin. I allowed myself to detach from everything for thirty awesome minutes (the longest I get to give myself for the past weeks, so far!) and allowed the words to fill all the corners I find empty.
And after minutes of continuously writing, I stared at the two napkins I was able to fill with random thoughts and impromptu (finally!) poetry writing and stared at all those words wanting to get out of my head for this week alone. I smiled.
I smiled for the thought of having a date with my Savior, seeing him across the table I am at, listening to my silent prayer as I wrote down everything. Imagining his smile across the table as I finish my lemon square and thanking him, even though it might have been tough for the past days at work, he's gracious enough and extremely generous to allow me to have something to work on. Feeling his hands holding mine as I searched for his comfort for what I've been feeling lately. Gaaaaah, it feels so amazing, it felt like New Year.
There's something comforting about corner coffee shops in a busy world. It's like a hidden mickey, an easter egg, something that is rewarding and amazing (or is it just me?). There's something wonderful about corner tables on a shop that brings peace to my world. And I am thankful for this corners because, at times we might overlook them as something irrelevant but through these corners, I get to find peace. And quiet, long-awaited dates with my Father.

Hiatus Alert!
I've been caught up with work, lately (OT on weekends as well) (the office is readying for the upcoming telethon as well) and hopefully, I'll be able to find some free time to just sit down and type my thoughts away. The reason why I've left this page for quite some time now.
But to update you with something (and to look forward to something as well),

But to update you with something (and to look forward to something as well),
- My grandma and Uncle came to the country by the second week of January.
- Ermingarde and I have been to lots of adventures for the rest of January.
- Work, work, work for February.
- another "Not an Anti-Valentine Post" for the coming Heart's Day!
So, cheerio my loves! I hope I'll be able to share soon. But for now, Chickee goes back to work. Sleepy for some weird reason.
